Simply a wonderful book. It definitely makes me want to start working in advertising. I love how much you actually learn from all the inside information you could not find just in any book. Full of examples, straight to the point principles, tips and basically a lot of great advice. The book does not over explain, it is very clear, and will be one of those books I can always turn to, again and again.
A marketing friend passed along a copy of this book just as it was being published and asked me what I thought. Having been in advertising/marketing for far more years than I care to acknowledge I was intrigued by the title immediately -- Does It Make Make You Want To Buy Something? The late great David Ogilvy once said "It's not creative unless it sells." Exactly. That's this author's central thesis. The book is not written for the seasoned veteran of marketing/advertising, although I certainly found it very readable and enjoyable. The examples and cases in the book were excellent. The book is an excellent primer in marketing, and complementary to the tomes of Michael Porter et al. Who should read this book? Probably everyone starting off or having a passing interest in marketing and advertising. Will they learn something? Absolutely.
